Oil

For most of the last 14 years we have been living a lifestyle that forced us to conserve resources - water, electricity, and fuel.  We will probably not tread that lightly in the future but we plan to keep our carbon footprint low.

Oil Dependence

Not only do we bear partial responsibility for the deaths of the coal miners, but we have some culpability for our military men and women dying in Iraq and Afghanistan.  By continuing our addiction to oil, we provide terrorists in both Iran and Saudi Arabia the funds to develop better and bigger weapons with which to kill our military personnel. My contention is that if we can dry up their funding (i.e. stop using foreign oil) we will break the back of the terrorists.
